- Road to land
The Land Tour begins with the meeting at the departure venue at 4:00 a.m. (usually the tour begins in the place where the traveler is staying). Dedirected to the north of Bogota, 1 hour's journey, we will make the first stop for breakfast.
We will continue this tour with sporadic stops in viewpoints and landscapes specific to the region and the mine to which this Tour is headed.
Upon arrival at the Emerald Mine, travelers will be able to know their surroundings with guided tours where the different theories on the formation of the emerald will be explained and will begin the journey towards the tunnels with their proper protection and explanation of the safety standards.
Entering the first cut or tunnel, we will know the areas of possible emerald production, different types of minerals and how miners carry out their work, in this activity more than 300 meters of tunnels will be explored.
At the end of the first tour, the course will be to the central camp where you will take lunch and you can evaluate some raw emeralds with the possibility of buying, the above will be done by one of our experts.
After the rest and lunch time, it will be departed for another of the emerald cuts where extraction tools can be used and work in possible productive areas of this gem.
After a detonation of explosives and after the inspection of a professional, you can appreciate the process of selecting land and cargo where debris will be separated from useful emeralds.
After this exploration and learning journey will return to the camp. There you will exchange dirty garments and boots for clean clothes. Once ready, the return to the city of Bogotá will be made.
- Air transport
The tour begins at the traveler's place of lodging in the morning (about 4 a.m. ) , where the route begins in the direction of the Guaymaral helipad in the north of the city.
After the boarding, travelers will be able to appreciate from the helicopter windows different geographical points of the region, some soil and subsoil faults and a brief explanation will be given about the geological faults of emerald production.
After approximately 25 minutes of flight, the flight culminates in the heliport of the respective mine, once the helicopter is descended, two vans will wait for all visitors to begin the journey to the cuts or tunnels.
Once at the entrance of these mines, a short explanation of the safety standards for entry, theories on the formation of emerald and minerals and the necessary tools for the extraction of emeralds will be made.
This exploration will be done more than 300 meters deep, observing different fronts or areas of possible emerald production.
1 hour and 40 minutes we will be visiting different tunnels and sectors surrounding the mines to return to the helipad where we will return to Bogotá D.C.

Please note that in order to make better use of time, in Emerald by Love we commit to visit maximum (2) two mines per day. This since the time per journey from one mining municipality to another can exceed 3 (three) hours.
