So you understand a little better the features and how to buy this type of merchandise we have created this article. Let's see

What is an emerald bargain?

As we mentioned above, an emerald bargain is popularly known as a rock that can vary in sizes, colors and shapes, from which it detaches not only a Colombian natural emerald but other minerals of great value.

Normally, these bargains are usually used in different ways, the most important is to extract the emeralds that are embedded inside, however, this is only possible if the carver sees it viable. In addition, these rocks are also used as decoration and even relics for those who treasure Colombian emeralds

What is the value of a Colombian emerald bargain?

Like everything in the world of emeralds the value will depend to a large extent on the characteristics of the gem and its level of naturalness, here we tell you of some parameters that you must have in the moment of evaluating your Colombian emerald bargain:

  • Weight: The weight of the bargain is a determining factor when it comes to knowing the cost of the stone. Currently you can find bargains ranging from 14 ct to hundreds of ct.
  • Quantity of emerald adhering: Another factor that is evaluated is the amount of emerald that contains the bargain. Often more the amount of other minerals than emerald. The more emerald is in the rock, this will be more expensive.
  • Color and emerald quality: The color and quality of the emerald present in the bargain should also be evaluated. It can be found from soda emerald, little color and low quality, to emeralds of intense colors and very high qualities.
  • Treatments: Like a carved emerald, raw emeralds are often subjected to certain treatments to improve their quality and color. The seller must disclose the level of treatment performed at the bargain either with oil or other components.
  • Manipulation: In this numeral we mean the bargains. In this way, the bargains that are not of natural origin are known, but were manipulated and carried out from scratch by some artisan or bargain seller. Many of these spell bargains are easy to detect from an expert eye, however, for those who are not connoisseurs it is better to advise by an emerald or emerald jewelry that can determine the origin of the bargain.

How much can a bargain cost?

Thus we reach the most important point in the purchase of Colombian natural emerald bargains, the price. Knowing the features we explain previously it will be much easier to value the cost of a bargain either natural or bewitched.

Therefore, if the emerald bargain has a considerable weight, a large amount of emerald adhering, the color and quality are high, it does not have treatments or any kind of manipulation, it is likely that its price will range from 1,000.000 COP to 50, 000,000 COP.

If, on the contrary, the emerald is lighter, does not have a large amount of adhering emerald, its color and quality are low, and it has some treatment or it is "sheed," it is likely that its value is up from 50,000 COP to 2,000.000 COP (by far, being a little exaggerated).
